Consistent quality over time

This is my third time using ApplicantLab, first for an MBA, then a Master in Finance, and now for the Reapplicant Strategy. What always impresses me is the consistent quality of the modules. The core advice remains solid, and they've added new features and updated existing ones. The Essay Brainstorming Tool was just as helpful this time as it was years ago. It's my go-to for application support because I know what I'm getting, and it delivers every time. They even updated the School Research Database with new info.

Good resources, easy to use

Signed up for the MBA Application Platform. It was straightforward to use. The Recommendation Letter Guide was very helpful. Got my applications done much faster than I expected. No complaints, it did what it promised.

Good for the price, detailed guidance

I purchased the Full Lab Access and found it to be a comprehensive resource. The step-by-step guidance was particularly useful, especially the Resume Module which gave clear advice on formatting and content. The Interview Prep Module offered good frameworks, though I didn't use the Mock Interview Practice so can't comment on that. Delivery is instant since it's an online platform, naturally. I appreciated the School Research Database; it saved me a lot of time compared to digging through individual school sites. For the cost, it's a solid alternative to a human consultant.

Saved a lot compared to consultants

I was looking for an affordable way to get help with my MBA applications without spending thousands on a consultant. I found a GMAT Club discount code for ApplicantLab and decided to try the Full Lab Access. It was significantly cheaper than anything else out there. The guidance provided, especially with the Essay Brainstorming Tool and the Resume Module, felt really comprehensive for the price I paid. I felt like I got a ton of value and it made the whole stressful process more manageable without breaking the bank. Definitely a good return on investment.

Helped with my essays

I used the Essay Brainstorming Tool for my applications. It really helped me organize my thoughts and figure out what to write. I always get stuck on essays, but this made it way easier. The whole platform was pretty intuitive to use, too. Definitely worth it.

Are there any special deals around Black Friday for ApplicantLab? Should I wait to buy?

L Leah Wright 1 week ago
I don't remember them doing a big Black Friday sale last year. They mostly do partner or referral discounts.

L Lisa Flores 1 week ago
Wouldn't count on it. Their thing is more about consistent discounts through GMAT Club or specific partners, not seasonal big sales like that, from what I've seen.

how long does access last after you buy it? is it just for one application cycle?

J Jeff Johnson 3 weeks ago
It's typically for a year from when you buy it. You can definitely use it for more than one school in that time.

B Brandon King 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's annual. If you're applying to a bunch of schools, you're good for the whole season.

Thinking between ApplicantLab and like, Stacy Blackman. Is AL really a legit alternative or should I just shell out for a traditional consultant?

B Brittany Roberts 2 weeks ago
It's a completely different model. ApplicantLab is like a super in-depth DIY guide, where Stacy Blackman is hands-on personalized help. If you're self-motivated and want to save a ton of money, AL is great. If you need someone to hold your hand, maybe not.

I used AL and saved thousands. For me, it was worth it. You get all the info a consultant would give you, just without the one-on-one coaching. It just depends on your budget and how much structure you need.

Does ApplicantLab have a refund policy? Like if I buy it and realize it's not for me?

M Mary Roberts 3 weeks ago
I think they do, but it's pretty strict, like within a few days and you can't have used too much of the content. You'd have to check their terms.

J Jacob Jones 2 weeks ago
I never tried to get a refund myself, but I remember seeing something about it being time-limited, like super short window. Better be sure before you buy.

Does ApplicantLab offer any human essay review or is it all just automated tools?

P Patricia Robinson 1 month ago
Nah, it's all self-guided. No actual human editing, that's kinda how they keep the price down.
3
J Justin M. 4 weeks ago
No human editors, but the tools are pretty robust. It walks you through how to edit your own stuff and gives you frameworks. You'd have to pay extra for an actual consultant for that.

Hey guys, thinking about getting ApplicantLab but wondering if there's any discount codes floating around? Like a GMAT Club one or something similar?

B Brian 1 week ago
Yeah, I definitely got a GMAT Club discount when I signed up last fall. Check their forums, someone usually posts it.

S Sofia 6 days ago
They don't do sitewide sales much, but referral codes are pretty common. Ask around on Reddit or student forums, you can usually find one for 20-50 bucks off.

Anyone know where I actually enter a promo code? Can't find the box anywhere.

B Betty 1 month ago
It's at checkout, usually in the last step right before you confirm payment. Look for a small link that says 'Add promo code' or something similar.

E Emma R. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's often a little text link on the payment page. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

Can I use ApplicantLab if I'm applying to multiple MBA programs? Or is it geared towards just one school?

S Susan Martin 3 weeks ago
Oh for sure! It's designed to help with a bunch of applications. You just use the different school-specific guides and frameworks.
4
J Josh 2 weeks ago
Totally, it's made for that. The core stuff like career goals and resume building applies to all, then you can customize for each school's essays.
